Our instructional videos are some of the best tools available to learn Ayurvedic massage and Panchakarma concepts. These videos are suitable for beginners and experienced practitioners alike. Designed to teach various Ayurvedic Massages with step-by-step instruction, these videos use high quality visuals accompanied by clear background narrations and relevant subtitles. Please browse through our comprehensive collection of tutorial videos. We are confident that you will find them interesting.

INTRODUCTION TO AYURVEDA

This introductory video on Ayurveda and Panchakarma is the first of our series of media products developed for our students. This video explains the basic concepts of Ayurveda and Panchakarma. This video contains video clips of various massages, their explanations with relevant subtitles.

KALARI MARMA MASSAGE:

This is the first tutorial video of its kind revealing the secrets of Kalari Marma Massage practiced only by a few Kalari Masters from Northern Kerala. This unique massage form has been developed from Kalari (the martial art of Kerala). The main benefit of Kalari Marma Massage is that it helps to protect Marma points (vital energy points) of the body. This massage is also helpful in improving the body flexibility and strengthening muscles, joints and ligaments. This massage also improves overall energy. Kalari Marma massage is based on the concept of Marmas (the vital energy points of the body where life energy is concentrated). According to Ayurvedic texts there are 107 Marma points in the body, which are to be protected from injuries and blockages to have a healthy life.

CHAVITTI UZHICHIL:

This is another form of Marma Massage also from Kalari, where the therapist performs the massage with his feet. The practitioner balances his body with the help of a rope attached to the ceiling. Chavitti Uzhichil is more suitable for people with athletic bodies. All 34 strokes of this massage are demonstrated clearly with instructions.

SHIRO ABHYANGA (AYURVEDIC HEAD MASSAGE)

This is one of the most popular massages in Ayurveda. The advantage of this massage is that it can be easily practiced almost anywhere, as the receiver remains clothed. The client receives the massage in the sitting posture. Muscle stiffness due to work-related stress most commonly tend to accumulate in the neck and shoulders. This can lead to tension headaches, stiff and achy shoulders, neck rigidity etc. This in turn can result in hampered nerve conductivity and blood circulation to the head resulting in poor concentration, weak memory and so forth. By relaxing the shoulders and neck we can give instant relief and improve people's well-being in most situations. This video demonstrates the Ayurvedic head massage in a step-by-step manner.

MUKHABHYANGA (AYURVEDIC FACE MASSAGE)

This massage is useful in both Ayurvedic treatments and beauty treatments. It helps to melt away toxins and impurities, which can accumulate under the facial skin. This procedure is beneficial in most common problems like acne, hyper pigmentations, wrinkles, etc. Ayurvedic face massage can be learned with the help of this video.

ABHYANGA:

Abhyanga is one of the widely practiced forms of Ayurvedic massages for the purpose of relaxation and body rejuvenation. This massage is also used as a sudation method in prior to the administration of Panchakarma. The strokes of this massage are explained with sufficient video footages and narrations in an easily understandable manner.

SHIRODHARA:

Shirodhara is another popular therapy in Ayurveda, which is somewhat synonymous with Ayurveda. Nowadays Shirodahara is widely practiced world over due to its ability to de-stress the mind and rejuvenate the body. This video explains the arrangements and procedure of Shirodahara. It also explains the preparation and set up of the Shirodhara pot, selection of the oils and other relevant information for carrying out this treatment properly.

ELAKIZHI – (PINDASWEDA WITH HERBAL LEAFS)

This is another form of the herbal bolus bag massage, which is mainly used for relieving conditions like arthritis and neuromuscular problems. This massage is performed using herbal leaves. This procedure is very affective in arthritis and other joint problems. This video also explains the preparation, ingredients, procedure and the benefits of this massage.

PODIKIZHI – (PINDASWEDA WITH HERBAL POWDERS)

This is the third form of herbal bolus bag massage in which powdered herbs are used. This massage is very helpful in treating conditions like arthritis, low backache, sciatica, etc. (please see the link – Ayurvedic Bodyworks – for more details of Podikizhi). This video also explains the preparation, ingredients, procedure and the benefits of this massage.

NJAVARAKIZHI – PINDASWEDA WITH HERBAL RICE

This is the third form of the bolus bag method, which is performed with medicated rice. Herbal rice is cooked first in a mixture of milk and herbal decoctions, which is then tied into a bolus bag inside a cloth bag and is used for the massage. This procedure is very affective for providing good nourishment to all worn out tissues of the body. This video shows and explains all the procedures and perpetrations involved in this massage.

UDHWARTHANAM – ANTI OBESITY TREATMENT

Udhwarthanam is a kind of dry powder massage used for weight reduction in obese people. This massage is also helpful in improving the skin complexion. This video features all the processes involve like preparation, ingredients, procedure, benefits, etc.

PIZHICHIL – OIL BATH

Pizhichil is one of the best Ayurvedic body treatments for rejuvenation purposes. In this massage Ayurvedic oils are poured over the body in a rhythmic manner followed by a gentle massage. You can learn all the procedures involved in Pizhichil with the help of this video.

KADEEVASTI

Kadeevasti is a simple yet affective treatment for all back problems. This video explains details of this local treatment and massage which is performed on the lower back. It is affective for back problems, like low back ache, sciatica, herniated disc, lumbar spondylosis, etc.

GREEVA VASTI

Greeva vasti is also very much similar to the Kadeevasti treatment but is used for relieving the problems of the neck, shoulder and arms. Common problems like stiff neck, frozen shoulders, cervical spondylosis, neck pain, etc. can be affectively treated with this local treatment. This video will help you to learn and perform Grevavasti treatment.
